Our first social evening of the season is from 7.30pm, mulled wine and mince pies will be served followed by the screening of “Small Things Like These”.
In winter 1985, devoted father and coal merchant Bill Furlong (Cillian Murphy) in New Ross, Ireland, discovers startling secrets kept by the convent in his town, along with some shocking truths from his own background. At the convent, a teenage girl begs him for help but then relents when faced by the Mother Superior who also alludes to consequences for his own daughters’ education if he tells of what he has seen.
