A local film partly shot in the Downs Road, Prom and old ironworks area of Maldon and the River Blackwater..
Starring Colin Firth and Rachel Weisz, this is the story of Donald Crowhurst who was inspired by the solo exploits of Sir Francis Chichester to circumnavigate the globe in 1968 as part of the Sunday Times sponsored yacht race. A Maldon boat builder created a replica trimaran for the film.
