The Maldon Film Club works on a membership basis and aims to screen the best of recently released English, independent and foreign language films. We endeavour to select films that:
- have not had a wide general release
- are less than 3 years old, although we always screen one classic film each season
- create a mixed programme of different genres from different regions of the world.
The film club is run by a committee elected by members at the annual AGM.
The annual subscription of £25.00 covers admission to all films at no further cost.
All screenings take place at Maldon Town hall at 8pm, unless otherwise specified. The film club runs a bar from approximately 7:30pm.
Members may sign in guests to each screening for £3 per guest.
Guest tickets cannot be pre-booked and are sold ~15 minutes before the screening on a first-come-first-served basis.
Please note that a member of The Maldon Film Club must sign in all guests, and that entry of guests cannot be guaranteed.
The published programme may be subject to minor alteration depending on availability and the vagaries of film distribution systems.
As well as screening 19 films in the 2017/2018 season, the club will host 2 Social evenings.
