A biographical film set in India in 1986. Five-year old Saroo is lost whilst out with his brother. He’s trapped in a decommissioned, moving passenger train and ends up in Calcutta, 1500 miles away from home.
Too young to identify himself or his home to the authorities, and totally lost in an urban environment, Lion is about what becomes of Saroo, and his journey into adulthood.
Starring Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman and Rooney Mara.
