The Midwife
Claire is a humane and helpful midwife, dedicated to her patients. Her hospital about to close and she does not want to work in the new modern
“baby factory” hospital; her student son Simon is starting to leave home. At this stressful time, Claire’s late father’s former mistress, Béatrice,
reappears. She is Claire’s exact opposite in character, the last kind of person Claire needs to mix with. But Béatrice suffers from brain cancer
and has nobody else to turn to.
