Embrace of the Serpent

Described as a “breathtaking cinematic odyssey through the Amazon”.

Inspired by the real-life journals of Theodor Koch-Grunberg and Richard Evans, two European explorers in search of a rare flower said to have healing properties.

Though decades apart, both are guided through river and jungle by the same native shaman, Karamakate, the last surviving member of his tribe.

Won the Art Cinema Award at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.
